I am pretty sure I hung up the boards after last saturday's slush and roller fest.
We paddled a new section of a local creek on sunday, and it was way more fun than the skiing even if it wasn't everything we hoped it would be.

Sorry to hear about the snowpack over there. What's the Lochsa flow looking like this year?
Suck ass. Done by sometime in late April or early May if things don't improve immediately.
Was at BS last week, it sucked bad. We figured it would dump as soon as we left but it doesnt look like it for you guys.
It is definitely kayaking season here. 80 this weekend. No water though, so Im hitting the artificial park again....which is the greatest thing ever for the dry summers here.
You need a good dam controlled river over towards Charlotte CB, definitely good for planning if you know the river is going to be running at a good level certain days & times. We're still outside of the guaranteed days window on the Pigeon but with the rain and warm weather they have been running it most every afternoon to generate power for the AC demand. French Broad has been rolling big the last few days too. Nice to have 2 decent rivers minutes away from work.
I would give my left nut to have a run like the Green within a few hours of where I am.

Spent 6 hours or so on the water out there Saturday. Nothing like hanging out and demo-ing everybody elses boats all day. Then you can drink beer and watch carnage from the bar balcony.Quote:

I've already got 11 days on the river so far this season. 6 Days on the Salt (pics in the Future River Trips thread), 1 day on the Piedra, 4 on the Animas. Pretty much hung up my boards too. Probably pull them out and go to Taos this weekend, but I'm bringing the boat as well... hit up Pilar and possibly Lower Taos Box.
root....lets do it. im heading up to zoo town this weekend, but unfortunately am getting some new ink, so i will be out for a little bit. but this summer i'm going to be looking for someone to run around with.

Just my luck, its was 80 yesterday. I plan a trip to the Ocoee this weekend and what do you know....lows in the teens, highs in the low 40s and fucking snow showers. :eek:
Oh well, time to pair the river booties and the ski socks.
