Turns out bacon grease is healthier than butter as it has less saturated fat. Definitely better than CRISCO, as it also lacks the trans fat and partially hydrogenated oils. 1

bacon grease goes on the dog's food about 4 mornings per week. this way we'll have our heart attacks around the same time, and her coat is nice and shiny.
