Big Sky Snow? No Snow?
I'm thinking of heading out to Big Sky in the next week or two, but I'm wondering if there's any snow left with all the warm weather?? As long as I can make a few runs down Lenin/Marx without hitting rock every turn (every third turn is ok, its big sky!) I'd find it worth the 11 hour drive. I'll know for sure in the morning when I get this stinking cast off my hand if I'm driving out.

Conditions are dicey to say the least. The rocks are still covered, but it is icy to corn to icy to slush. Sharpen those edges, and wear something on your injured hand to protect it from hard falls. The nice thing is that its been warm and sunny.

going down on sunday...I'll report back. Been in Park City for last 12 days. When I left it was skiing great. Of course, that was after all that snooowwww!

Anyone ski BS today? Bridger was suck-tastic after 11, the back country is a gloppy mess....*sigh*

I skied Big Sky on Sunday. My overall impression, considering it's consistantly warmer than it should be is...not bad. Shedhorn was goopy and sketchy at the same time, Challenger was was good/bad. The bowl is still skiing good especially if you take the traverse later in the morning. Bacon Rind...not too bad early. Definately let challenger warm up, cause it's allittle crunchy. Tram was open for "The Big" only. I wasn't brave enough, but I caught up to guy who skied it and his exact words were, "it firm, dude" Take that however you want, I guess. It's supposed to cool down the next few days, so my guess is that the whole place is gonna be allittle firm. Supposed to warm up again this weekend. I'll be up there again. It hasn't scared me off yet! Definately pull out the red/yellow wax if it's warm for the cat tracks.
Does anybody have any good info on "the great one's" conditions?
