JVC GR-HD1 consumer HD camera

Anyone have any good info on this camera?

Everything on camcorderinfo.com is from 2004...


I need to buy a camera ASAP for school, and since my dad is footing the bill for me he wants to buy new from B&H even though buying used would save alot of money.

$1500 dollar range so my options are limited

What are you going to use it at school for? Is it a production course? If so, don't they have better cameras for you to use?

I would go looking for something more like this camera... but I can't vouch for the seller.

Im going to use it for making a documentary this semester, mostly interviews so the quality is not that important, but I will be wanting to use it for other things.


I can rent from the school, but it is really expensive.


In reality I need to spend bigger and get a 3-chip cause myself and another maggot are going to start a real movie project next year...

I also need my own 16mm setup...


shit...money is stupid.


Maybe I can convince my dad to let me pay him back with interest.


Being a film student with class at crazy hours does not translate well to having a job...

WOW...They make you rent your gear at film school??? Holy fuck, that is weaksauce.

I had to buy all of my tapes and film stock but the cameras/lights/tripods/etc, we were allowed to sign out for projects.
