Yes please, Ive been screwed over multiple times by this restriction. There were many threads I couldnt get to via the search function because of the 3 letter stipulation.
I could drop the restriction to less letters, but it would make this board a complete hog. It would make it search through every "and, if, or, but, I, we, for, etc..." through all 92,000 posts on this board. Your search would take forever and it would seriously tax the server.
Vote no on a tax on this server.
is there any way that we could let the search engine look for words like REX, G4, K2 etc?
Other then that If everyone thinks of it after an important two or three letter ski or word just use a / and the search engine will look for it
so
Volkl G4 becomes Volkl G4//
K2 Public Enemy becomes K2// Public Enemy
and so on and so forth, yeah its a pain in the ass but its a doable work around to a legitimate problem

I tried to google for K2 and force google to only search the TGR forums, but it said NO DICE! Meh.

Is word length the only criterion you can play with? Decent search systems will let you have both a list of noise words (like and, if, or, but, etc... and too bad if you search for The Who) and exception lists; as well as other fine controls. Doesn't vBB have that? Bummer. I am not in favor of a slow server but there are big holes in search.Quote:

Owens, I know with some forumsoftware, you can have a few words manually indexed (so give the word and the search-engine will index the word with a certain score). Maybe that might be a solution?
i second the donkey kong feature and while were at it can we get some old school mario brothers too, love that game with the turtles and coins coming out of the pipes
