My first TR: Mount Snow 3/2-3/4
After being out of skiing for the past ten or so years, I recently got back into it in the past two years and have been re-discovering how much I enjoy it. This weekend really helped me broaden my horizons. Thursday night, we drove up to meet a friend at his place not far from Mt. Snow. Was a little cloudy, but no precipitation yet. We watched ski porn and drank beer for many hours. About 11:30, it started coming down. And it didn't stop...

We woke up in the morning to about 6 inches, and it continued throughout the day, changing over to sleet and eventually freezing rain later :( . We got up to the mountain early and caught the 5th chair to the top. This was a picture from the lift on our second trip up.

Took a few runs on The North Face and the Main face under cloudy skies and mixed precip.

Then we ducked into the trees for most of the rest of the day. They were fun and remained mostly untouched until we got there.

On our way out we heard some old guy arguing with a Mountain Ambassador. I'll spare the details, but the jist was that the guy said he was an expert skiier, and that the chopped up powder was too difficult and dangerous and they should send groomers up the mountain to make it safer for people to come down. The ambassador told him that they didn't groom while open. I can imagine how she didn't laugh in the guys face.
Saturday morning they groomed the crap out of the place :cussing: But then it started snowing, and somehow people overlooked certain areas, so they were nice later in the day.

Sunday, we got back into the trees due to another few inches of fresh.

A pretty good weekend for us over here on the EC, and for me personally, the best weekend of skiing I've ever had.
Quote of the weekend:
A 'skiier' in jeans on saturday while it was snowing exclaiming to his friends, "Guys, slow down. I can't see shit." I turned to look and he had no hat or goggles.
