I am not a fan of full faces. They give a bit of peace of mind when cruising through trees, or areas with lots of exposed rocks, but I think the benifits are negligible. The chance of faceplanting into said rocks is pretty small, most people instinctively protect thier faces in a crash. The biggest reason I don't like them is because the faceguard torques your head around in a cartwheel, and it also tries to pull your whole helmet off.
Plus, they're a pain in the ass. I wish someone made a non full face that was as burly as the giro mad max though, I'd be happy.
EDIT: A huge reason most people like em is because they keep you from kneeing yourself in the face when ladning hucks. I say stonger legs + steeper landings + better snow = not a problem anymore. I don't really do any large airs, but I've only kneed myself in the face once, and it was a damn stupid thing to jump off of.
