coming to Utah
So a bunch of college buddies have a condo at PC for the weekend and I'm going down to ski and drink with them. They understand that PC sucks and we are planning to hit Alta on Saturday and maybe Solitude on Sunday. Most of these guys are financial planners and ad execs and such so although we skied together a bunch in college I don't know if they can still ski. I don't really want to bail on them but if this storm comes in right I'd be psyched to grab a run or two with a maggot or at least put some faces to a few names.
I'll be wearing red jacket, black pants, red boots and skiing on Axioms and probably waiting on a group of 8 or 9 gapers. Say hi or just ski on by and laugh.

Don't forget to stock on on beer before you leave Jackson ;)
Good strong swill is not cheap here brotha.
-
Right - Shopping list includes 2 cases of cheap beer, 1 case of good beer, 1 bottle of Jager, 1 bottle of vodka.
Any chance we won't be able to get up to Alta tomorrow?

I think the backup plan is Halo deathmatches at my house if the canyon is closed, Phattypowpow is now fully addicted I think ;)
It is a definite possibility. Looks like this wave will taper off tonight though, so I am guessing things will be good to go by morning.
MMMMHHH, cheap beer and Jaeger.

What is the number to call and see if LLC is closed?

PC doesn't suck... especially if you are from out of town.

Little Cottonwood is State Highway 210, and Big is 152, by the way.

Seriously. PC is very underrated. Its not Jackson, but there are great steeps up high and you can find stashes all over for days after a storm, unlike Alta. People just don't know about it, don't care, or are prejudiced.
Check it out.
Considering that your buddies might not be as good of skiers as you, PC might have more to offer for your group, especially if you are staying there. You are looking at 1 hr drive with traffic to get to the cottonwood resorts, so you can take your buddies up Sunnyside and Sugarloaf? That doesn't make sense.
And don't overlook the Canyons. Whatever you do, don't dis PC. Only JONG's dis the PC without ever skiing there.

I agree with DisArray. Park City may not be the best ski area ever, and it may not be in the same league as Snowbird, Alta, et al. But it is still really fun. Last year I hit it with some fresh pow, but not tons overnight, and saw lots of fresh lines holding pow that had been there over the last 3 days (and this was president's day w/e!). Jupiter Peak has some really fun stuff. I think you'd be crazy to be staying in PC and not even consider a day there.

Sar - if the cottonwoods look likely to close or become a junk show (it will be) you should seriously consider Snowbasin - it's also just a shade over an hour from PC.
If you do decide to stay in PC and ski The Canyons drop me a PM. I'm thinking The Can or a trip to Pow Mow for tomorrow.
