can you help me find a book before 5 PM Eastern?

Okay, so I'm looking for one non-fiction/techy/geeky book and one book that is more a story (fiction or non-fiction - - think Kite Runner for the non-fiction storyish book). I'll be making a B&N run this afternoon because I need some reading material for the weekend.

Books that I'm contemplating for non-ficton:

The Trouble with Testosterone - Robert Sapolsky
The Origins of Virtue - Matt Ridley
The God Delusion - Richard Dawkins

Recent non-fiction reads tend to center around biology / sociology / anthropology / evolution (Genome, The Red Queen, Before the Dawn) although I'm going to venture into historical non-fiction / political non-fiction / and biographies when I have a good recommendation (recent read that I enjoyed: A History of the World in Six Glasses).

Fiction - - I've got nothing. I read one fiction book every 5 or 6 reads. Recently read (and enjoyed) A Spot of Bother by Mark Haddon. The last fiction books I read prior to that were Thirteen (hmm... I think that was the title.. it's missing from my bookshelf.. about Upper East Side aristocrat kids and a drugs with a crescendo at the end) and Chromosome 6 by Robin Cook.

Historical favorite: Issac Assimov (Foundation Series) and Ayn Rand books.

Killing Pablo

I second Killing Pablo... great story by a great author.

Also, check out Ed Viesturs new book. I'm reading it right now and it is very good.

Warped Passages, by Lisa Randall. Particle physics and alternative dimensions, new ways of looking at the physical world.

The Unsettling of America, by Wendell Berry. The effect of massive corporate agribusiness on (1) the agrarian segment of the American working population, (2) the land used for agriculture, and (3) the long-term ability to independently produce regional and tasty edibles.

The Geography of Nowhere, by James Howard Kunstler. The effect of the automobile on the decline in human interaction, and the way suburban sprawl is killing the sense of human community.

The Long Emergency, by James Howard Kunstler. The effects of hitting "peak oil" and what will be necessary to remain a viable society in the wake of our impending loss of petroleum.

I read that when I first moved to NYC. Now one of the schools JR is in reminds me of those kids!

Okay here are some recs:

Fooled by Randomness - great book, actually took the rec from one of my professors (and, also Yossarian, ha), about risk in the capital markets, loved, loved, loooooved this book, can't say enough good things about it. Not only does Taleb make strong points but his language is excellent and it's a great read.
Against the Gods- Remarkable story of Risk - also about odds and makes a strong case against humanity's obsession with fatalism, I really enjoyed it.

Blue Streak- chronicles Jet Blue's interesting rise, pretty good read and also time relevant based on what is going on with the,

I'm a big PJ O'Rourke fan, Eat the Rich is my favorite of his, On the Wealth of Nations is his latest. You might also like Confessions of an Economic Hitman (not by Rourke) which I enjoyed.

Read Under the Banner of Heaven on my flight back from SLC and made me want to pick up a couple other books on theology and different religions, just go get a more rounded perspective.

Tried to get Absurdistan, but the help at B&N couldn't find it. Kinda mad that I didn't look for The Road while I was there but it took so long to try to find Absurd that I had to jet.
