Today, The Canyons did not suck

Surprise, Surprise.

I spent most of the day at the old Park West (i.e. Golden Eagle; SunPeak and Super Condor lifts). The snow was soft. There were not too many of those annoying pebbles on the groomers. (There are still a lot of bare spots with shrubs, trees and rocks in the natural areas). The clouds rolled in at about 12:30, and it started snowing at about 1:00pm; it is still coming down pretty good. The highlight of the day came at about 2:30pm when we saw a big ole black moose on a mountain bike trail right off the Super Condor lift. I think he came out to enjoy the weather.:)

you really like the canyons too much.

Not really. It's just that it's close, and I'm trying to make the best of a bad situation. (I do like it better than DV and PCMR).
I can't tell you how many times I've had to repair my sticks already this season. Today, was just one of those family days that was a lot of fun.

Seeing the lone moose hanging out in the open was very cool.

Was there as well for an Avy 1 course. We had an awesome, big group. We skied outta bounds and surprisingly it wasn't so bad, still soft and some windbuff.

I definitely wouldn't call it good, but at least it's something.
