??Tip and edge seperation issue??
Picked up a pair of used, 188 blem Bros. I'm told they were meant to be Super Stiffs and ended up somewhere closer to the Stiffs, either way, they rock.
I took em out to CO last week and loved 'em. Really loved their versatility across most terrains and are definitely burlier then my Mantras in the crud. They need to be tuned (seemed railed, going to put a new base bevel on them), but in inspecting the ski before and after the trip I have a tip and edge issue which I want to take care of before I put a file on them.
Tip: base is slightly seperated at the tip and can be pressed down with a slight touch. Its only going to get worse with moisture and pressure, although I won't be on them for a while. I'm wondering if I should just dry it out, put some epoxy in there and clamp it down for a bit? I just want to make sure I don't bubble the the base of the tip, could impact the diving/floating issues a little. Any other suggestions?
Edge: were the spoon/tip begins to bend, one edge is seperating a little from the sidewall. Same deal? Little epoxy and clamp?
Looking for recs on the right epoxy and procedure. I've got a clue, but I don't want to do this more then I have to, could only make things worse by putting some junk in there and not having it work right the first time.
