I had surgery on my tail bone over the summer, and I have fallen on the damm thing twice in the past couple days skiing. Does anyone have a recomendation on a body armor company.
Cheers

dainese
they make a pad for just about anything
I wear pro-tec hip pads, they have a tail bone protection too, but you may want something more significant. A football girdle will hold a pretty serious tail bone pad.
rockgardn stuff is good, mostly bike, dainaise is lighter though.
I've got these:

Not really that substantial in the tailbone area but a lot better than nothing. I actually supplement it with a hip pad from some downhill shorts velcro'd in, with the hardshell it's pretty good. I got 'em on sale somewhere for like $45 but they're $60 on the site:

The advertising's pretty classy too.
Aegix...built into the pants. Good stuff.
+1 for Dainese. Look for it in motorcycle shops if you can't find it elsewhere. The pro-tec shorts aren't bad either. I have a set of Red shorts that work pretty well. Pro-tec has some out now that basically just have some hip pads and a tailbone pad, rather than padding all the way around like most do. That may be more appealing to you. I noticed them last weekend when I had to replace my daughter's pads.
Do a search on this subject. There have been some good posts on it. 661 has a nice looking set of shorts and an "impact belt" that might work well for you.
R.E.D. armor shorts has a foam and plastic tailbone protector... good stuff i wear them almost every inbounds day

Here's a link to some decent prices on protective gear. No first hand experience with any of the brands though. They have padded shorts by Sette, Fox, EVS and Crashpads though.

Thanks guys, I just picked up a pair of RED Impact Shorts. Hopefully this will to the trick until the tail bone heals completely.
Cheers
you wont regret those... they are awesome i've had them for 3 years and they've saved my hips from some serious pain. they aren't horrifically expensive either
agreed on the REDs, good choice. They have an actual hard plastic pad as opposed to just foam like most others.
Altrec have 25% off R.E.D, Burton & Anon stuff until 1/31.
The Impact Shorts look like board-shorts, not Leiderhosen, nowadays, btw :fmicon:
The "BroDeal" :rolleyes2
