Is that yours? Congrats - it looks sweet. Who made it? My brother had a bonzer custom designed in about 92'. I never tried one but he loved it and he ripped on it.
Was it shaped by the Campbell Brothers? What are the specs? Ridden it yet?
I've got a twinzer bottom fish and had a blue hawaii will jobson twinzer in the early 90s. They go-go-go.
It's a Point Blanks shaped by Fletcher... slightly used. Picked it up at the Cardiff store yesterday. 6'10" * 20" * 2.5" Can't wait to give it a whirl - gonna fix a few small dings first (don't have epoxy patch stuff yet)
Are you down here? Post if you are going to be surfing here this afternoon. I'm thinking about grabbing a few waves at Ponto during glass off.
Nope. Didn't make it past the border on the way back from Baja with time enough to escape LA traffic, so I surfed inside Swamis (better than expected) and hung out. Maybe next time.
I have a 6'1" five fin Bonzer. Shaped by me. The venturis are a little shallow compaired to a Campbell but the thing hauls ass. Rainbow did a great job laying up the fins and glassing it. I still think it is lame that the WCT rules exclude the bonzer.
Nice looking board; isn't a 6'10 bonzer a bit large? I always thought bonzer setups where most effective on shorter fish-like shapes???
The Bonzer design works on a wide variety of shapes including longboards. Looks like cj has himself a board that will slay OH to OH++ waves or bigger but will still be fun as hell in chest to HH surf. The faster the wave the better.
Check out http://bonzer5.com/ for a good overview and history of the bonzer.
