I'm really starting to get into hucking cliffs this year but i have one problem. I can't land anything over 8 feet. I was hitting a 12 footer up at abasin and everytime i land i just eat shit hard. would apreciate any pointers on cliffs.

Stop eating shit is probably the best advice anyone can give you.
Otherwise, w/o a quality takeoff your landing will be guaranteed to suck, so focus on being balanced (hands forward) on takeoff.. Are you trying to stomp your landings or are you just crumpling?
don't huck to a flat landing! It is damn hard to stomp anything big that lands flat.
Try progressing to 10' before hitting the 12'.
I call bullshit. Has to be a troll.
This has never been discussed here before, so don't bother trying to do a search for it.
12 feet shouldn't be hard to stomp and ride away clean. Focus on staying centered over you skiis.. almost like you would land a terrain park jump... often times on bigger drops, a grab will give you more control in the air, especially if you aren't spinning.
If your hucking bigger stuff into a lot of pow its seems to me most of the pro's land backseat sink into the bomb hole and ride away.
Who is in your avatar, phunk, and why does she brighten my day so?
Hip check to smear turn.
its because you suck....just give up
Deep Days, I too have always liked Phunk's avatar, after reading your post I looked a little closer and I think she has her legs pinned behind her head, wow, Phunk should post that complete pick in the padded room, if it's been there before i've never seen it.
Ask Jamie Pierre.
Yeah, those are definitely her own calves she's peering through.
ditch the snowblades and try skis :p
ah, i figured this out my first year out west. as the dude said, 'punching' your hands forward is key to keep balanced. the huge thing for me was looking FORWARD when landing not at your impact point. come off the cliff, spot landing, look up. once i nailed that down stomparoony. feels weird to be looking where you are going to ski and not land but it works. popping at takeoff can help sometimes too...but yea, work on looking and if you have an vid of the yardsales...let us see :-)
gluck
Sounds like you don't have enough speed. Try a little more!!
Damn. I bet Icemang it was his sister.
My avatar is his sister
His sister is waaay hotter.;)
hit takeoff spot in a slow and full upright position, close your eyes, spread your arms and lean way forward. Should stick it everytime.
just go bigger. you won't feel nearly as bad eating shit off a 40 footer.
