A buddy sent me this link today. Looks like you can run it on your Windows Mobile or Java-enabled GPS phone and broadcast realtime tracking data to your friends or family. Kind of a cool concept.
I think all mobile phones are going to have GPS receivers at some point, so perhaps a PLB of sorts (or an Orwellian tether, depending on how you look at it) for the everyman.
