video playback question

my camera (canon a620) takes awesome video, 640x480 30 fps. problem is, my computer refuses to play it smoothly. no matter what program i use (mplayer, k-lite mplayer classic, quicktime, vlc) the picture is jerky at best.

it this a function of my computer being old and not having enough memory, or is there another program i should be using? (or something else maybe?)

Guessing your video card isn't up to snuff.

what program are you using? could be your playback settings and other settings that are jacked. could be your vid card, but doubtful unless your computer is a dinosaur -- how much ram you got?
