Shit if only i had an extra $9,000 to waste:eek:Quote:
78 bids?????
First of all, I'd love to know how this guy got this number in the first place. That's nuts.
Secondly, it's almost $9,000 with more than 7 days left in the auction. I bet he gets $15-$20 for the number.
Some people are just "lucky", with a little help I'm sure....
the endless 3am drunk calls would make the number worthless.
"uh... huhhuh.... is JENNY there??? huhhuh"
Word. I've already programmed the number into my cell under "Call When Drunk!"Quote:

Years ago a pizza place in Toronto were named for their phone number and did a jingle on radio that I still remember 967-1111. They spent 10s of thousands on radio advertising to get that in everyone's heads. Tommy Tutone has already done it for this number. I'm betting a business buys it and it will seem cheap compared to advertising. The obvious business of course would be an escort service maybe called Jenny.
My bet is that wouldn't be the first escort service on Phunk's cell phone under the heading of 'call when drunk'.
Somehow I bet the phone company screws this guy and tries to claim the profit on it.
 it's already at $15,000!!!! skidawg, I think the price is gonna go wayyy higher than $20,000
Yeah, wow! Maybe I should have revised that to say "$20k by noon". Crazy!
Whose Tommy Tutone?
80s one hit wonder.Quote:

looks like business are trying to buy it...well over 20 grand now....I wish I could randomly get that stupid number
  $25K for Jenny's number?!?!
Do you suppose that it's because I don't have that kind of disposable income that I find this so absurd?
Well, it does make good business sense if you work the angles a little bit.
Make that $37,500 as of 9:10 MST. :eek:Quote:

136 bids:eek:
11:30est.
138 bids.
$40,100
Does this not constitute a bidding war? We've moved well beyond "disposable income" at this point. That's the silliest thing I've ever seen.
What was I thinking???? Thank god someone outbid me at $39,000!!!
Yeah....I guess I got caught up in the frenzy. Now I think about it, I already have a phone number. Damn.Quote:

It's at $65k now with 5 days to go.
It's funny, the only reason I could see for anybody paying that much for the number would be for the local Jenny Craig branch. That would be some slick marketing, but for $65,000? Sheesh.
If you owned a pizza restaurant in NYC, that would be one hell of a number to have. I mean how much do you figure pizza joints in NYC pay to get their numbers in front of customers? Hell, then you have to get rights to use the song in ads and name it Jenny's pizza and you are going to make a pile of money off that.
It would also be an advertising deduction.
80 grand and still going up...
