Tastee is good, as is 29 Diner in Fairfax, but the fact that there are two Silvers 5 miles from my house, and its open until 2 am makes it worth it. And a bowl of chili, pecan pancakes(bring your own vt maple syrup), and an oreo shake is the breakfast/lunch/dinner of the gods.
And Dunkin over Krispie? No F-in way. Have you had one that has just come off the line? I mean, like right off. It melts in your hand before you even get to eat it. They are amazing. Basom, meet me at the manchester airport at 1255 sunday and I'll bring you one that is just about an hour old, still better than dunkins anyday. (isnt there a new krispie around boston?) You hit a dunkins at 11 oclock at night and the donuts are stale, you can go by krispie anytime of the day, wait five minutes, and a fresh batch will be out. Not to mention the closest dunkins is in Springfield, and I believe there have been at least 5 shootings outside the window over the last two years.
And yes, the best part of all will be leaving, and then going out west in a month! Oh man, I cant wait!

I do agree w/the 5Guys statement. Unfortunately they'll soon be coming to a strip-mall near you. Some large conglomerate has bought them up and is franchising nation Wide. (Mark Moseley - former Redskin Kicker, is somehow involved.)
I also noticed that you were only mentioning junk food (not that there's anything wrong w/that.) Check out a place called Ray's "The Steaks" on Wilson in Arlington. IMHO the best pure steak house in the DC area - even better than Sam & Harry's, and Ray actually grills your steak personally on weekends. Killer sliced cow, and a great wine list mainly under $30/per bottle. For those who drink wine in Restaurants, you know that's rare in this area.

Moseley is involved with 5Guys?!? That's the kiss of death, considering how WELL his burger joint did in Herndon (please note the sarcasm). I used to eat lunch there ever once in a while and that guy has the personality of a stump.
I'll have to check out Ray's though. That sounds like my kind of place!

Silver Dinner... NO Way, Metro 29 Dinner in Arlington!! Kicks it's ass all up and down.
Another good eats for italian, maggiano's in Tysons. Just went there yesterday for a function, damn tasty.
...Best part of being back in NH...drinkin a beer and watching the 500.

and what's the discussion? ray's the steaks. I live 5 blocks away and work only 3. ray is a good guy and I second the recomendation. Village Bistro (nextdoor) gets good grades too if you're not in the mood for steak. The Mexican place (the other nextdoor) is also highly recomended. (and the ABC store two doors down.)
anyway. weird. you all can catch me drinking jars at Four Courts (up the block) 3-4 nights a week. let me know.
local's trivia: ray's the steaks was previously an _Afghan_ restaurant. (the name escapes me) it was there for 20+ years. got high marks in the rags. Madelleine Albright used to frequent it while Sec. of State, etc. ...it inexplicably closed down less than a month before 9/11
