NSR - new IE 7.0 browser
is it just me or did all of a sudden a whole bunch of web pages you normally look at just go haywire
the pictures all have X's, the pages are all f'd up and this was even before I downloaded the new IE 7.0
now with 7.0, it's just as bad and the new format is disrienting because it looks totally different than IE 6.0
WTF is going on?
I go to CNN.com for news and the entire page is all blown apart? anybody know why?
other than downloading IE 7.0 nothing else changed on my machine and the problems actually started before I downloaded it, not after

web developers have been developing primarily for a non standard compliant browser (IE6) for years now. IE 7 is more standards compliant, so pages that have lots of IE specific code are now blowing up in IE7. if you had been using a more compliant browser like FireFox, you would have seen differences all along.
while i have seen differences in a few pages, CNN.com looks fine to me.

maybe your copy came from a hustler.

Afaik, that's because these days a lot of sites are wrapped in css, which is interpreted differently by different browsers. Alas, IE has always been "queer" like that, so I'm thinking the pages you are having trouble with have not been fixed to deal with IE's bullshit. Use Firefox.
Edit: whoa... beaten.

pardom my lameness, but if I start using Firefox, will my bookmarks travel with me? thx

Yup... Firefox will even import them for ya during the installation.
