audio helmets & ipod remotes

do any of the helmets that have built in headphones have remotes that can be used with gloves on?

Currently i have an iPod with regular sony headphones that i wear in my helmet. There are a couple of things that suck about this. (1) the iPod has 8000 songs and it's a pain in the ass to take off your gloves get inside your coat and change the song when something shitty plays. (2) when in the lift line, on the lift, or stopping on the run it's also a pain to pause the iPod so you can hear your skiing partners.

Anyone have solutions to this problem? Weatherproof remotes that have buttons that can be used with gloves on or something to that nature?

I like listening to pantera screaming in my ear while i'm maching down the mountain so leaving my music at home is not an option.

I have heard of a I-Pod Remote that fits on your fore arm and is water proof and straps on your arm and has large buttons although a few buttons such as volume, and FWD or RWD...

I do not know who told me about it, but we were talking about skiing at the time.

Also there are new ear phones that cup your ear and are not pods so you can hear exterior sounds around you so yo do not collide with another skiier...

I will look for it but can't promise much since my search skills are not that in depth...

I found that Belkin just started making a weatherproof wireless remote for iPods. It's called the Belkin SportCommand. It straps around your arm with a velcrow band. It also has large enough buttons that can be used with gloves. A little pricey though.. at $80.

my solution is to make a playlist specifically for skiing, then you won't have to mess around with the controls. I just have a mute on my tune-ups for when i want to hear.

with 8000 songs, you will certainly have enough to make a 12+ hour playlist of songs you love to ski to. mine is ~5 ski days worth without repeat.

you can pick up a tuneups for less than $40 and then you have upgraded to far more comfortable setup with muting capabilities.

I don't know if your helmet mfg has this option, but I modified some tuneups to fit my friend's helmet. hot glue and velcro are your friends!
