more snow in the forecast! BRING IT !!!
i was thinking mansfield. any chance the forecasted mixed precip on sat will actully be just snow? high elevations maybe? was going to go up tomorrow but we have no ride.
can't wait, skied jay last spring (march) after a huge storm and have got to get back there many times this season
On the second JP pic, there's about five people skiing down the trail from the top. How is this possible!?
Can you hike up and ski the mountain when it's closed, like you can do on Forest Service land in the west?
If so, thinking of making some turns this Saturday.
No ones gonna give you trouble hiking for turns at Jay esp. if they're closed.
Thanks. Think I'll have a go.
If yer gonna fly to VT from Wales I think Loveland has thier lifts running.
Thanks for the heads up, but I'm currently in NY state.
6.5 hour drive from where I am (Middletown).
Last weekend here before heading back to Wales.
Any closer skiing then please let me know.
I remember good days when i used to ski Jay when i lived in VT. Oh well, altaBird treats me good now.
Brings back good memories...
I'm jealous. Oh wait, no I'm not, I ski WB now :D
Jay should be good, mansfield is also good right now, solid skintrack set, solid bootpack all the way up, plenty of snow, also looks like tuckermans will be the place to be this weekend
I'm planning to earn some turns on sunday, I sure hope it snows.
yea we're going to try to get vid, i'll try to post something sun night or mon. think we're going to get tired and build a small jump... :fm:
Jay was beautiful yesterday (October 25th). Did some skiing, no snow until you get to the Stateside parking lot. The top third of Stateside had between 1-2 feet base. Not sure how much was new snow versus previous days. The snow was wet and heavy, but you can't complain for October turns.
My partner had skins, I didn't. Big different, especially at mid-mountain. Bring snowshoes, I wasn't expecting so much snow, so the hike was pretty demanding.
I'll post a link when my partner post his digital pics.
Tucks will need a lot more snow.
Picture from Sunday the 22nd.

I guess lower chute or left gully might be skiable but personally I would rather be at Stowe or Jay.
Here is the report with some pics.
