Allright PNW mags, I'm tired of dreary, gray Seattle-concrete. I'm looking to get out of town. Ideally I will not be spending any money other than on gas and food and a lift ticket. I'll crash in my sleeping bag wherever and whenever I feel like sleeping.
Pollard hooked me up with a lift ticket to White Pass, but thats about as far south as I want to go.
Anybody have a good spot to go that is somewhat isolated, free, not a city and does not require 4wd to access?

bluewood...but that is only if you want to drive all the way to walla walla. its nice and small(1125 vert-like 500 acres) but its got great treeskiing and nobodys there! ill prolly be there every weekend-could show you around some...theres also the state penitenter(cant spell) here.

Whitefish: 9 hours.

Should be sunny over there the next few days. They are closed on Tues and Wed. Kinda of a laid back place where a lot of locals hang out . Pretty cool. :cool:
Heard Mission is doing better than normal (read you dont have to p-tex your bases after you ski there)..
I would, go bluewood then mission then get some german bratworst and brews in Leavenworth.. and call it a weekend....
you could also ski the rope tow at hurracane ridge, never been dont know annything about it... but it would be diffferent..
Of those choices, I would pick Hurricane Ridge. Way laid back, good conditions right now. Totally different from the Seattle scene. Short runs out the traverse, but worth visiting.
Mission can be good, but it just doesn't snow there enough. 9 days out of 10 the snow is rock hard. Wenatchee (AKA armpit of Washington) is likely to be sunnier than Seattle, but not a town I would choose to hang out in.

loup loups got a quad....its hella slow though, but so is bluewood.
The hidden gem of Washington skiing. Mission, Loup, and Bluewood. Dry snow and sunny days. Reminds me of Utah. I think I'm gonna go check it out.:cool:
i dont know about mission but bluewood and loup loup sure are a lot of fun!
