PSA Google Earth
If you haven't checked lately the resolution on Google Earth (Google Earth Beta (v4.0.20XX) has really been upgraded in many areas. Kirkwood's Cirque, Martins Point, Emigrant Lake areas really pop as does the BC in Sierra's Huckelberry Canyon. Some areas of previously low resolution around Heavenly, Alpine Meadows and Squaw also look great. Its really getting to be a nice tool for trip and route planning.
If you haven't upgraded to the new version in the past month or so and seen the improvements, its worthwhile.

Yeah I did notice that. My home state of Massachusetts still has the same shitty quality 4+ year old image, but the imagery (sp?) of the mountains in Maine is greatly improved.

Great, it's like I don't waste enough time there already. I can stare at maps and ariel photos for hours.

what about google earth plus??? - especially for the Jackson Hole area. I'm thinking about upgrading, but want to know if the resolution is really any better than the (crappy) existing pictures.
Any experience with google plus would be appreciated.

This one's kind of fun, if you want to data compare. Don't know how long it will last since they state up front the data is being lifted without agreement.

Google earth has integrated the NAIP Imagery captured by a group of state and federal agencies in July of 2005. 1m true color of the entire state nearly cloud free.
I wish they would just ditch some of the other imagery they have for only small areas. (like the badly color streched tahoe scene).
