Material Handling...Material Question
I'm currently involved with a project to secure my company's products (gearboxes, turbine blades, etc.) to their respective carts & trucks as they are moved from place to place. For the most part the solution is simple, 1" Polypro strap nets with velcro in strategic positions fastened over the aforementioned products.
There is one truck in the process that needs to have a more delicate/less abrasive netting on it though and I'm striking out on finding something easily accessible. What we're currently using is basic strapping similar to that on backpacks, tents, etc. except in a larger size. I'm getting bitched at that it is too coarse. What else can I use? Strength isn't too big a concern, it just needs to keep a 100 lb object in place on a flat surface. It can stretch but doesn't have to. It needs to be slippery though. I'm thinking rubber webbing or some kind of non-rope nylon. The area to be covered is about 4' by 5'.
