Lucky with Books
OK, so this may not be a good fit for the surf pages, but hang in there....
About a month ago I read Survival of the Fittest by Mike Stroud - this book has become my bible. It is inspiring in the extreme if you have any designs on being healthy and good at your sport.
Then, Birdsong by Sebastian Faulkes. Total contrast. Possibly the best "story" I have ever read.
So... I was worried about what book to pick up, would it be a let down after two great reads.
Book 3 = In Search of Captain Zero by Allan Weisbecker. Total and necessary contrast to the other two, amusing and some of the best descriptions of riding waves that I have ever read. Mid way through and lurvin it it.
Surely people who don't surf or ski are missing such a big part of life.
There is no point to this. Just wanted to share.

In Search of Captain Zero is a personal classic of mine. I have read it three times i think. I am currently in the middle of Allen's third Book "Can't You Get Along With Anyone." so far I can't put it down. flows just like his other books Cosmic banditos and Zero.
