Ski Length Question
Quick question:
I am looking to purchase a pair of 05/06 k2 Public Enemys. The problem is I have to buy them online and my time frame to buy them is limited. Thus I cannot demo them. I am 5'-11" and around 160 lbs. I am looking at the 179 cm length. I am an agressive skier, whos looking for an everyday, all around ski. Yes, I have used the search function. I find the majority of the people say just go for the longer size. However, I'm not sure if that will be to much ski for me. Thank you so much for your help!

If your main concern about length is if it will be "too much ski" for you, than yes, it probably will be. Is 179 the longer or shorter of the two lengths that you are looking at? Hopefully the shorter. Also check the 2nd thread on tech talk--there's other factors you should be considering. Also, I have a friend who know's a guy who skis with a guy who skis the PE and he likes them, so you should definitely buy them.

A 179 is not too big.
Im your same size and demod those skis with only having skied a couple dozen days ever and could handle them fine. They were a lot of work for me in bumps, but what can I say after only ~24 days of skiing.

I have them in a 174. If I was out west, I would definitely prefer the 179; I do a lot of times around here. Looking back, I should have bought the bigger ski. They work well for me in the trees, but I would like the extra length when I'm going flat out. If you really are aggressive, get the 179. If not, there's no shame in skiing something shorter if it fits your needs.
edit: forgot to add I'm 5'8", ~160

I am 5' 8" - 140 (yea, there is a reason they call me the Snow-Flea) and ski a 174 World Piste.....granted a much narrower, all-mountain ski, but at your height and weight, I would think you could handle it if you are an aggressive skier.
