Tech TR: October Oakland Ghetto Mount

Synopsis: After months after months of searching, Slim found a brand new Salomon Jig. Combine that with drill, drill bit, wood glue, posidrive, a washer/dryer, and some 40's of our favorite malt beverage, the mount job is on. Armed with a Motorola RAZR cellphone cam at around 1 freaking mega-pixel, 666 walks into nomansland....

Ghetto? He used a jig, I was hoping for a paper template or something. weak.

you want ghettotastic, i mounted my friend's naxos with no template, buy putting his boot in the binding, guestimating when it was at the midpoint, having a friend hold the toepiece down while I used an awl to mark where the holes should be, then drilled, mounted the toepiece, then mounted the heelpiece perfectly by guestimation. I did both skis like this, and they are friggin perfect. However, like you, I was in a basement laundry room, but I was drinking mickeys, not whatever you're drinking. The kicker, the one of the washing machines i was resting the ski on top of was actuall on, and someone didn't balance their load.:nonono2: :nonono2:

Idris remounted mine in Cham with a tape measure and sharpei. You must try harder at the ghetto.

Also the Marker strap in the last picture will cause the sallys to pre-release.

this TR would have been complete with a report from (long gone) rosco's chicken & waffles.

that was the last reason i had to go to oakland.
