Does anyone have the full story on why this product never made it to market?
You've started the development of a new binding system, the reactor. You even sold a few pairs last winter, but it has been quiet around that project for some time now. What are we waiting for?
Jason L : We have spend the past year switching factories and making improvements to the product. It just takes a lot more time than anyone expects to manufacture a brand new binding. Making a new ski is so simple compared to developing a revolutionary new binding. It is simply taking longer than expected for us to get our manufacturing all set up efficiently as possible. We plan on selling it again in winter of '04-'05.
They had probably 10 pairs of the Pivogy at SIA. They feel quite burly, with lots of metal, and are silver and blood red. All of next years Line skis have the inserts for the bindings.
There are a few 2003/2004 Reactor/Pivogy units around at the moment. I was wondering whether they have durability issues. Is it the case that they didn't quite have the plastics quality of the first models sorted?
I saw a few of the reactors (a guy was selling a pair on ebay a few days ago), didnt they get recalled because people were breaking legs?
The were recalled because they were braking bindings....they released as expected when you fell, just sometimes the binding itself didn't survive.....the toe piece would snap off!Quote:
