Mounting The Seth
Hi!
I know there's already a thread about this and I've checked it. But that only made me more confused. I'm ordering 06/07 The Seth from the german skisite sport-conrad.de. They give you 3 choices of were to mount the binding:
1: Core center (freestyle/park)
2. Midsole + 1.5 (standard)
3. Midsole (freeride/offpist)
Standard sounds fine to me as I will mostly ski them offpist but also ski them in allround conditions like cut-up, groomed and slush. But from the other thread it seems like midsole + 1.5 still is very far back and I don't want that. STill I don't dear picking core center.
Soooo, what to choose?
Greetings/
Carl

Be sure to ask his permission first.
And have a safety word.

Shouldn't you also be sure to offer a courtesy reach around?

I'm skied the SV mounted at mid-sole as demos on a couple of powder days. They are more floaty when mounted that way. In the end I mounted mine at +3.5 as I like to ski in the trees. I found that they handle better in tight places & also on the groomers mounted that way, w/o giving up much for float. It's got a pretty wide shovel which has no trouble keeping those tips up in deep pow.
If in doubt, mount with a demo binding or some other binding which you can adjust (ie. tyrolia railflex).

In summary
+ 7.5 core or center mount
0 mid sole
- 2 SV graph off
Corrected
+ 9.5 core or center mount
+2 mid sole
Most folks seem to have mounted +3 to +5. Whether that is the corrected value or not I don't know.

aha, thank you guys, I think I'll tell them to mount it +3 mid sole, seems like a good allround compromise.
