I've had two Dakine 3L water/hydration bladders and after a short while they keep leaking at the connection between the bladder and hose or conduit. :fuckyou:
Any recommendations for a better manufacturer?

I've never had a Camelback bladder leak, and I've had quite a few of 'em.Quote:

3X on Camelbak.
Also, Dakine's warranty dept. is supposed to be very helpful, so send those leaky Dakine bladders back to them.
aren't you glad I brought extra water .....I :yourock:

Yes. This has happened to me and it appears the problem is widespread.Quote:

Jim, does your Dakine have the quick disconnect where the hose connects to the bladder? Just wondering because I've noticed the little o-ring on the hose connector pops off pretty easily when you disconnect it. If that's missing, it'll leak for sure.
YES!Quote:

i switched from camelbaks to platypus bladders about 3-4 years ago. no leaks and no weird/plastic-y/camelbak taste...not even from day 1.
for the record, i didn't have a leakage issue with camelbaks -- but the taste was a bit less than appealing.
I also use platypus bladders - I like that I can use 1 hose with a bunch of different sized bladders (bladders themselves are cheap) and can use regular lids too (useful for backpacking trips, dont want to keep the hose on overnight).
Yup, that's it. It fits in the notch on the end of the hose connector.Quote:

I woke up and am now going through my garbage to find the O ring. Sweet! ;)Quote:

EDIT: Found two O rings probably one each from each bladder. Popped them into the connection and it still leaks. Grrrrrr..
wipe the coffee grounds off of them and put a touch of vaseline on the o-ring, that might help.
Why? Because it doesn't leak. The quick disconnect on the hose is nice. And I like the bite valve a lot more than the Camelbak one.Quote:

I bought a Platypus bladder for my DaKine Heli-Pro (didn't come with a bladder) and it was great for 2 seasons, but now it leaks at a hairline crack in the base. I think it's just the nature of the stiffer polyethylene or whatever it is, and the design of the bladder having a tucked fold at the base. It only leaks a little though, and it took me a long time to figure out why my pack was always wet (I thought the mouthpiece had the drips.)
I have been using the Dakine Pro II with no leaks. I am regularly changing out leaking Camelbacks.
