Out of bounds in Pa

On the hill at 9:30, got in two runs before ten o'clock ski school lineup. We had about 8 inches of very light blower. The trees were pretty nice but the combination of poor wind protection and dry snow meant I was hitting the stuff underneath a little too much. Then I got a lesson at ten and ended up teaching straight through till two, so everything was pretty much skied out.

However, around three I met up with a few other instructors and on the lift up one of them informed us that he had cut a few private stashes over the summer and we should still be able to get some fresh tracks. This was definitly good news. We ski off the lift over to the back side and drop enter the woods through very tight entrance, but as soon as we dropped in it opened up perfectly. There were only one or two sets of tracks so we pretty much had nice blower the whole way, about a foot deep and super dry.

The next run we skied the same line, and I ended up catching a submerged log and double ejected to a fluffy face plant.

The next run took us back to the front side and all the way to the far end of the mountain, where we hopped on the condo access trail to hit up a line through the woods that was definitly out of bounds. The line was pretty much a straight shot, about fifeteen feet wide, and maybe three hundred vertical feet. The snow was knee deep in most places and again, very light. We emptied out on a road and had to wait about thirty seconds for a shuttle to pick us up and take us back to the base. We skied that line about three more times and then called it quits.

This was by far the best day of the season. We skied runs on my home mountain I never knew existed. I never thought I would be skiing Seven Springs and actually feel like I was out in the middle of nowhere.

there are a few spots around the springs where a bit of slogging can earn ya fresh, ungroomed snow after a big storm. some are visible from the lifts, some aren't. my vote is the north face side. off of the giant steps lift to the right are some of the best spots, but the patrollers will try to save it all for themselves. man, i wish i could be up there today... maybe we can meet up for some turns at some point.

If you wanna meet up I'm on the weekend ski school so any weekend Ill probably be there, except this weekend cause I have some exams next week so Ill be studying, but any other weekend just pm me and we will make arrangments. If we happen to meet up on a pow day Ill show you the line we skied off of village trail down to village road, it was amazing. I havent skied much around Giant steps you will have to show me those stashes.
