"me, you, and everyone we know." Holeee crap

Holy crap I just finished the best movie I've seen in years. So good that it had to be posted in the main forum. It's easily the most quoteable movie I've ever seen. So funny, sincere, bizarre, humorous, wrong.

One incredible scene involves a young kid chatting online with some older person and their talking about sexual stuff they want to do each other. The little kid comes up with "poo back and forth". "I'll poo into your butt hole and then you'll poo that same poop back into my butt hole and we'll poo back and forth using the same poop." I just about lost it.

"email wouldn't even exist if it weren't for AIDS" There's about a thousand other worthy quotes, but I don't want to steal all the lines before you see the movie.

It's written, directed and starring Miranda July. I'm not sure but I believe she's the same crazy chick on "Car Chase Terror" by M83. I believe she can also be heard in the opening credits of Tee Time. At least her style of bizarreness made me think back to those other things.

Anyway rent the movie. I know I'll be buying it. Now it's time to delve deeper into more Miranda July creations and see if their as good as this flick.

I've seen this. Very cool movie, in a slightly disturbing way. But only slightly, not as bad as the quotes MD9 throws out make it sound. Very well made.

Seen it, thought it was fantastic.

Yeah the "I want to poop into your butt" concept was great, especially how it turned that older chick on so much.

Good to see the sidekick from Deadwood doing some good indie films.

I saw this in Greenwich village last august. Quality, def one of the best movies of the decade.

I really liked the way that, though disturbing and wrong, what could have been was way more so than what was actually presented. The film skirts disaster and tragedy around every corner without actually going there.

Miranda July is a filmmaker, performing artist and writer. She grew up in Berkeley, California where she began her career by writing plays and staging them at the local punk club. July's videos, performances, and web-based projects have been presented at sites such as the Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim Museum and in the 2002 and 2004 Whitney Biennials.

hehe, I saw this and though it was one of the worst/stupidest movies ever. But I'll admit it could have been my mood.

Miranda works that self-reflexive thing pretty well in her movie.

For another interesting film by a recognized "artist" check out Cindy Sherman's "Office Killer". A bit more visual (she's a photographer) and goofy than July's cerebral/social commentary but pretty cool. And Carol Kane is hil-airy-ass.

When I leave a nice poop, I can immediately rank it.
Just recently I dropped a top 10 poop! oh the joy from the feeling I get when every thing closes back up to a 1 wipe poop!

This is not a film for those who like explosions, chases, or action.

It's quirky with an independent and artistic flavor. At the most fundamental level, it is about how people struggle to reach out and relate to others.

Very cool movie, saw it a while back, interesting stuff. Something along the same lines is "Palindromes", different but good...

Why? I like explosions, chases, and action flicks and cerbral movies. Hell, I watch boxing while reading poetry! :)

I want to see that Palindromes movie...I remember reading about that one a while back.

Office Killer I need to google up and find out more about. Seems interesting!

Sidenote: this is how I know my husband really loves me...

When we first met I subjected him to a lot of "interesting" movies.
One of them being "Superstar" which was the story of Karen Carpenter's life, as enacted by Barbie dolls (heh!).

I also dragged him to a whole slew of strange foreign films w/ subtitles and he is a dyslexic.

Needless to say, he slept through a lot of movies early on in our relationship.
After all that he still married me. What a guy...lol!
