I came across a line of boots the other day called Rexxam. I did a bit of internet research and found they are from Japan, but little else. I try to have an open mind about new products and I'll be in the market for a new pair of 'discomforters' pretty soon. Does anyone know anything about them, are they worth considering (allowing for fit of course).

If they are a JP they should be a wider width, stiffer and lower volume instep. That is a usuall japan foot shape ....
that being said there are LOTS of boot that are cheaper and easier to fine in north america...

You're right. I've only ever seen them in one place - a shop here in Wanaka. I'll have a chat to their boot fitter and maybe try a pair on. The other option is getting a pair of zip fit or comforable liners or whatever they're called. What ever i do I'll have to do it soon. I'm up to 2 pairs of thick socks to pad the current boots.Quote:

if you fit 2 pairs of socks, the shell is too big, and new liners (zip or anything else) will pack out to the shell shape and in 10 days will also be too big.
I'd find something more main stream, (and cheaper?) and go with a 1-2cm shell fit MAX. yes they will fell too tight to start with, but yes they will pack out and be just fine.
If the bootfitter or store doesn't first do a shellfit walkout
I didn't know that about the shell fit. I think I put to much trust in the last bootfitter I used.
I've got a pretty narrow foot (but not ridiculously so) and use a Lange at the moment, which I had thought had a narrow fit. Can you suggest a boot that has an even narrower fit. It'll give me a starting point at least.

one size (or more) down will be narrower too.
lange has a narrow fit in generall, but they make 5ish differnt shapes. Last years 120 and 130 came in a LF (low fit) and a MF. plus the plug race boot was narrower still.....
Raichle (K2) is narrow too.
but really, FIND A GOOD BOTTIFTTER, trust them. not some punk online....
The key there is the "good" bootfitter. Don't just walk into a shop and ask who their bootfitter is. Do some research first and find out who's considered to be THE bootfitter for your area. Of course, opinions might differ a little, but if you can find someone who's done thousands of pairs of boots you're gonna do pretty well.Quote:
