Extended ski storage in hot conditions
JONG away...
Any "last word" on whether storing skis in hot conditions will damage them? By hot, I mean daily peaks of 95-105 degree heat, day after day, for 70-90 days in the summer. These are the conditions in my backyard shed/ workshop, which is where skis and bikes end up... This is in Reno, so it's practically no humidity -- rust is not a problem in storing skis here.
I know of some ski shops that store their equipment in portable outside containers (think container truck style -- huge metal boxes), and the insides of those containers must get plenty hot in the summer.
Will this actually harm anything, or am I just slowly hot boxing my skis over the summer? There's a thick coat of unscraped wax on the bases from May, which I'll replenish sometime over the next few weeks.
