Seriously, I was more focused on whether mags are living with a partner or not than with or w/o kids. Regarding living with parents....shudder. The prompt for this thread is that my g/f just moved in and I was curious about how other maggots live in this regard.

You'll be surprised at the stupid shit you'll get into snits about, like how often the towels get washed or if the damn cap was left on the toothpaste or not. Go into this new phase of your relationship with an open mind - she's not there to make your life easier nor is she there to learn how to do things your way. Most importantly SHE needs to realize that you aren't either.

Good luck my friend. My special lady friend and I have been living together for about a year now and I can't say I have any serious complaints(and I am someone who really likes his space and alone time). Granted my GF and I had been dating for about 5 years already but if you love her most of the pithy little stuff works itself out. If anything we resolve problems or arguments quicker now because neither one of us can bail or retreat back to our own place now. But these are just my personal experiences.

I can't even imagine getting married before living with someone. What a dumb idea in this day and age.

I was married once. I'm still very good friend's with my ex.

Current g/f and I have been on more than off for 3-4 years so we know each other pretty well. She's great and importantly respects my alone time and my ski addiction. My kids like her and she likes them, etc, etc,....

GFP and I have lived together for 3 years, going on 4, with a one year break when I moved and he had to stay another year. Not married, no plans, but I definitely wouldn't marry anyone I hadn't lived with. You have to know if you can live with the person every day, and see them every day, and deal with getting over fights when you can't just walk away for a few days. I really like it... of course there are other benefits to living together as well. :D

I live alone.

I lived with my long-time love for almost 2 years. We can all see how well that worked out...:rolleyes: :D

I tend to agree wiht the idea that living with your g/f or b/f before taking things further is a good idea.

My wife and I didn't live together before and after 10.5 years I love her more than ever. Sure, there may have been a few adjustments but the reality was that the first couple of years we kept asking each other, "I thought everyone said this was going to be tough or something." I suppose I got lucky.
