The surfing
personal experiences or things you heard from friends only please. i did a google search and looked at a few online sites but wanted some direct info.

I was in Rincon a couple of years ago and it is by far one of my favorite beach towns in the world. Great vibe, lots of girls, incredible fresh food and relatively cheap. I would look on NY craigslist as I know there is a couple that has a house they rent for cheap. Search "rincon" in the vacation homes section and you'll see it.

there are some hotels going up there soon. So prices will begin to rise drastically within the next few years. So get it while it's still good and relatively remote.

The secret hotel is up a steep hill and the owner of it is the owner of calypso bar at marias. is has a view of: Tres,Dogs,Marias,Domes stayed there last year a fridgefull of beer is complimentry and the coolest people are there. PM me for the name. I surfed all 4 of the spots, and the locals are cool, just dont be an ass and laugh at yourself if you fall, b/c they wil be laughing at you when you come up =). I was taking photos of all the locals from the water the day before so I warmed up to them. If Rincon isnt doing well go to Jobos in Isabella I have a shot of my friend ducking 2.5 overhead wave, but really really fun rights. Ive seen locals lurking in the bushes for your belongings, just dont leave valuables in your car. If your really worried just ask one of them to watch your car and give him some money. If you fly into Aguadilla (closest to isabella and jobos) and you ask for directions you'll get something like this: <><<<>>< (left right...)

nasty rock situation
if the con is pumping, there is no better spot in california. word to the wise, if rincon is pumping and your lucky enought to get a wave to yourself, don't get to excited and stay on for the wave of your life. the Right hand beauty can dump you into the side of the highway. no beach, just a rock wall. i have witnessed people get slammed into these rocks before. forget about your board, time to save your life. So make your drop pull into the cons perfect barrells and pull off before you get smacked up.
I like camping at the El Capitain camp ground. it is a few exits north of rincon but it is right on the water, and you can get a good idea of what the swell is doing from your tent window.
