so, I hit the backcountry for the first time this weekend... Went up to Bow summit with some friends. The weather was good, and despite all my incompetance, I wasn't really causing that much trouble. An experiance to be repeated again soon... That's really all I have to say, I'm just pretty stoked about it.
your 1st time ever or just this season ? either way congrats ! Ski areas are fun but getting outside the ropes opens up a whole new sport.
Sweet! I'm amazed at how different the experience is in the backcountry . . . still skiing, but the lack of sounds and people, augmented by the heightened awareness really make it unique.
