Yeah, I guess the arranged marriage might work if you want to get married, have kids, etc. But what if you don't want one or more of these things? Heck, what if you're gay?

That's what I'm thinking. And say your family truly did understand what YOU want. Do they agree that it's in your best interest? I think about all the nagging I get from my mother that I should go to church and have kids whether I want them or not, yada yada... And remember her and my sister discussing that it doesn't matter if you have nothing in common at all, or aren't really attracted to one another for that matter, the only important thing in a relationship is your shared religious beliefs. (And even if that doesn't have you gagging don't get confused here, what she really meant was that my husband should share HER religious beliefs, not mine...)
Basically if my family was setting me up in any relationship, let alone a marriage I think I would have run away screaming....
