Help replacing road bike fork

Since it looks like it might be broken. I am a complete road bike wrench jong.

I have a Scattante R-660 can be seen with specs here

Not sure what kind of fork i need to replace it. According to the specs it says it has:
"fork:Carbon/Aluminum 28.6 Integrated Steerer"
and
"headset:1 1/8" integrated 36/45 degree"

I found this gem on ebay

Will I need other parts or can I reuse the headset off of the current bike? I am sure I will wind up taking it to a shop when i realize this is out of my league, but trying to figure it out for myself.

you need to first confirm the steertube length.

you will also need a special expander for a carbon steertube, not a star fangled nut like alum. steer's use.

other than that, yer set.

The carbon fork that I mentioned in your other thread is available. I was wrong though, it is cut, but brand new. The steerer tube is 1 1/8, 200mm long and is full carbon, and has an expander included.

This is a really sweet fork. It comes stock on the 06 Specialized Tarmac Expert in blue. The bike that it came off of was a 54cm. The rake is 45mm.

This fork wholesales for about 120.00

I'll sell it for 100.00 shipped.

d=headtube. The steerer tube is the tube on the fork that goes through the headtube and is where the stem clamps onto the bike. Just make sure it is as long as the stock steerer tube. Longer is ok (it can be cut) shorter can be a problem for fit (think spacers on stem steerer tube connection) or it can just plain be too short to go through the headtube and have enough length left for the stem to bolt on.

D (headtube) + Headset Stack height + stem clamp height + any spacers you want - a ~1/8-1/4 for the headset cap is how long you need your steerer tube to be

you could also paint that fork yourself with a can
but if you can find another good fork at that price no big deal

edit: fyi, cambriabike has a full carbon easton fork for 110 and the retainer for 12 with free shipping.

No worries crinkle, I'm the same way, thats why I mentioned the color.

The fork you are looking at on ebay is uncut, so at least you wont have to worry about it being too short.
