f range fred and me ran Gore canyon last night. Other than a very late start (didn't reach put in till 7 pm), it was awesome. Huge waves and massive holes - river gods were flexing in the canyon last night. Countless pillow moves and 15' waves. Really fun clean run, ran meat everywhere.

Gore at 2,750 = :eek: Looks like Gore will be going back down, flow in the Lower Blue is down to 150cfs, down from 1,000cfs earlier this week. I'm gonna shoot for my first Gore run later this summer. It'll be a good goal for me. In the meantime, I need to get plenty of runs down through Dowd Chute and the Numbers.
Put in at 7? Damn, no margin for error there.
I'd like to get in there at that level, but it's hard to convince people when so many others things are going. Sounds like a blast.
cmsummit: Gore around 1000cfs is a great way to break into solid 4+/5-. Don't hesitate to get in there when everything else stops running and don't be intimidated by things you hear. You can walk the big two and the rest is just fun class IV.
Was a late start, but had good partner and I've been in at up to 3200. Agree its tough to find people to fire it with and a good partner or two is essential.
Would like to have put on earlier, but it was ok, know river well probably do 25-30 runs a year down the canyon.
As cmsummit posted Gore around a 1000 or even to 1400 is a nice 4/5. Lots of line options and usually a meat and sneak line available. Easy scout and portage if necessary. Classic CO. run.
