The water came up a little early around here this season and it looks like our rivers will maintain good flows for quite some time as there is still lots of snow in the mountains.

Great pics! :cool: Is that a nose-plug in the last photo? I saw some on the MEC site.
Anyone know how well does those work? If it does indeed work well I think it would go a long way in lessening my trepidation about trying white-water kayaking. I hate getting water up my nose, can't deal w/ it at all.
Oh, and this reminds me...I have not developed any pics from my outing on the sound but hope to this weekend and will post them up.
In the meantime, my husband sent me this today. He's installing some hatches on his sit-on-top and apparently our cat has decided it would make a good sit-in kayak for her.

Yeah Sprite, those are noseplugs.
There are several different types and most of them seem to work fairly well. Absolutely essential gear for me, others do fine without them.
Nose plugs are an essential piece of gear imo.
I think Smiley's noseplugs are the best imho.
Great pics too, the water in the first pic is surreal.
For cold water, ear plugs are pretty much essential gear, too.
I can't stand being under without plugs. I have some friends who never use them, even when they're playboating. wtf?
