A friend of mine recently bought a bighit and he's nuts. He's ridden mx so i think that's why his perspective of "big" is bigger than mine (and im a pansy). I haven't seen his bike recently, but he said he bent the arch on his junior T on a backflip attempt. So now he wants something burlier. What should he look for?

I don't expect to ever break the Junior T on my bighit but the 35mm stanchions on the 888 might give him enough strength. All 2006's come with lower crowns similar to the go-ride lowrider which lowered it 1-1/8". 40mm stanchions on the Fox 40 may be even stronger.
However, I vote for him to get the Marzocchi Monster T
Super burly (12 lbs :eek: ) It's basically a small motocross fork. I think it would hold up to his abuse :D But what would I know, I'm a wuss on a bike. I love watching others risk it though :) Not sure about the rest of the bike surviving either.
Perhaps a Super Monster would be better? Is he the next Bender?Quote:

This might actually be a better idea. A buddy of mine had his Monster survive him shearing the headtube off of a Foes mono and 50/50 casing a huge step-down in Virgin (which snapped his handle bars on impact). The fork will take a beating for sure.Quote:

Go with the 7 inch travel '02 monster. the '03 is 8 inches, but weighs a ton more. I think the super monster is 12 inches, but weighs as much as a small car. I have the '02 and I weigh 220lbs and have never bottomed it out. I run the stiff springs, 15w oil and add an extra 10ml to each fork on an oil change. The method to maddness is more oil, less air, stiffer shock. The last two inches ramp up super hard. Plus it is still one of the most plush, smooth travel forks out there. much smoother than any 888 i have tried.
lance canfield is selling a White Bros DH 2.0 on mtbr right now for 600 and it is one of the sickest forks ever made. inverted, 8.5 inches, external compression chamber, so fucking plush. SOMEONE BUY IT. if i could afford the cash right now, it would be gone. otherwise, FOX 40 or 888.
888 is $$$
get one
A couple of Fox 40's i know of have suffered from the staunchins slipping in the crowns, plus its more of a lightweight racing fork like a boxxer - go the 888's or monsters. If he's backflipping a bighit, weight shall not worry him unduly.
