The nice thing is that it thrives in the Utah climate. The bad thing is that it takes over... I planted 3 tiny little mint plants (catmint, chocolate mint, and pineapple mint - which is the yummiest in drinks) several years ago and we have about... 30 square feet of mint not counting where it's growing in the grass, in between bricks in the pathway, under the steps of the deck, etc... Luckily a lot of it is catmint which has cute blue/purple flowers and drapes over the rocks and looks pretty nice. It's apparently appropriately named, because the cat sneaks out of the house and rolls around in the catmint plants whenever she gets a chance.
