How many maggots wear
mouth guards? I am curious because yesterday I was 'shredding the gnar' on a two-hundred foot ice hill and decided to go play in the park. I picked out a table and pulled my first backflip of the season. Everything was fine and dandy on my rotation but my face narrowly missed both of my knees on the near flat landing and my teeth clamped and chattered upon touchdown. I realized that the ULLR Angel was watching closely and spared my teeth and tongue. I remember seeing dantheman with one but was curious how many others wear them in the park or when hucking cliffs? I will be donning one next time I play in the park for sure.

i know several folks that use a mouth guard. good idea to have one.

Seth Morrison wears one. So does Anthony Boronowski. It certainly can't hurt... it wouldnt be a bad thing to have in your pocket. I'm buying one before my whistler trip in a couple weeks.

I thought this was going to be a thread about

Jure Kosir and Alberto Tomba did.

I'm with Schmear, the proper rhyme to "how many maggots wear..." would have been "underwear" not "mouth guards."

i wear one... for lacrosse :)
i'm thinking about bringing it and tying it onto my chinguard though ;)

I use one. Would rather spend a little money that I have then spend a lot of money I don't have on fixing a tooth/teeth.

Broke a tooth a couple weeks ago at Sugar doing a drop that was well under rockstar status (15-20'). Need to go by the sporting goods store and get a mouthguard.

Always in my pocket and it comes out whenever I try to be a bird and fly.
For me it is not about loosing teeth so much as it is about getting knocked out from clamping my jaws together.
Too many KO's playing Rugby over the years has now left me easily susceptible to concussions this way.

right. the mouthgaurd is primarily to help with concussions. thats why boxers, hockey, football, skiers wear them. it also keeps you from biting off the toung which is usefull to have if you want to spew to the ladies about how you almost bit it off hucking your meat.

Sort of off topic, but last summer I had a nasty mtb wreck that chipped/cracked 4 of my teeth. After having some work done to file down the sharp edges, I now have 2 smooth nubs and a tooth that'll most likely need a root canal w/ in the next 5 years. Add to that the fact that the nubs are so sensitive that I brush my teeth with warm water and chew on the right side of my mouth...I'd say don't wait for the guard, just get one.
BTW, I still don't have a mouth guard.
