NSR Taos/ Alb NewMexico request for weather update

Taking a road trip to Taos over the 23-25th next week. Forecast looks to be calling for showers.

1. Any locals want to bet if that means afternoon sprinkles or a deluge?
2. Is the snow melted off enough to do some light hiking in Taos, or will it still be a mud bog? Is the soil sandy so it dries out, or is it clay so that it stays muddy?
3. Any must-visit resturants while there?

Thanks dude, but if I am going to ski I would be heading to Tahoe...This was meant to be a warm weather Spring time break. We booked the B&B today, but still looking fro any suggestions as to hiking routes, resturants and sights.

Anything low elevation or desert should be fine. If you want high alpine then head to the jemez or farther down the Sangre line. Taos actually had a good spring so high alpine will be wet or snow covered, Most likely corn and bluebird though so just wear good boots and hit it up. It may be the desert man, but the sangres are big mountains. Last year they held a snowpack until june, unusual, but you should usually expect some snow left at the end of april up high. But there should be plenty of dry hiking all over No. NM if thats what your after.

I wouldn't coun't on the weather being too bad. There will be wind if anything. A good hike or mountain bike ride that will be dry because it's low elevation is the West Rim of the Gorge. It's a better bike ride than hike but the views are great. For good New Mexican food Orlando's is the best in my opinion. Josephs table and Villa Fontana (if it's still open) are great for an expensive dinner.

Thanks for the tips, I am googling the resturants now. The weather looks to have cleared up some, looking more sunny and warm than the long range initially. Logging out and hitting the road shortly.
