Anyone have first hand experience using this device or similar (Polar S6245x or Suunto t6) for trail running? I'd like to get something so I can track my trail miles but don't know how well the footpods work for variable pace & strides associated variable terrain.
I've only had experience with the Nike Triax watches w/o odometer, but they were complete crap. The running store I worked at stopped carrying them about two years ago because every other one was returned as defective (mainly, the straps would fall off). I do not know if they fixed this problem or not, but I do know we would never carry them again. We have carried the Timex watch with odo and no one ever had any complaints.
