I had heard people asking about this in the past and never paid attention as it never caused me much concern. But my latest plank attracts snow and it freezes on, creating a catch all for even more snow. Adds weight. Pain in the butt.
Not sure if it is happening on this plank as it is black or if it is more of a texture thing. Last board was Navy blue, so I don't see color should matter much...
Should I rub dry wax on it?

get them cold before you ski them. Let them sit in the back of your truck, out on the ski racks, etc. If they're freezing snow won't melt and then freeze on them. Some snow attracts more snow.
Crayon ski wax on the top sheet if that doesn't work....
I've found my Spatula top sheets are snow-magnets. It's impossible to keep the things free of snow whether I pam, windex, rain-x, whatever them.
I like to pour lighter fluid on mine and light them on fire right before I drop in.
I think it looks pretty sweet when you ski down the hill real fast like.

The "getting the board cold" thing has worked for me in the past, hence it never being a probelm for me before. But this board, even if I ride all day (and then the board should be as cold as it's going to get), and scrape every little bit of snow/ice off, it gloms back on.

Just scrape off the loose snow on one ski by using the other ski, sitting on the chair lift.
Whatever you can't scrape off, just piss it off while on the lift. The smell also helps protect your skis from getting stolen from the lodge.
My black-topped Maden's are terrible for this, Rain-X helped a little but not much. The black just soaks up sun on the lift, then it freezes when you start skiing again. Wish they were a lighter color....grrrr.
I've also had the same problem with my goats all year. I love the black topsheet but that color/topsheet material combo just attracts snow like no other. Personally, I've given up.

cover your topsheets with reynolds wrap/ tin foil. When they get heavy, peel them off and throw them away. Problem solved:cool:

i actually think hertel makes something just for this purpose.

grow some, stop complaining, and just ski
i'm pretty sure a high-quality condom could be stretched over the entire ski. after each run, peel off the condom, roll such that the snow accumulates in the reservoir tip, discard, and put a fresh one on.
