I think the whole reason Maxim, FHM, and Stuff exist is because of our continued military presence in the Persian Gulf. We've been there forever, we're gonna be there forever, and to avoid offending Arab sensibilities, pornography and alcohol are banned (but killing and torturing them is okay).
So, to get around the issue, and the lack of females there (it's roughly a 20-to-1 ratio there...and YOU spend some time there, 4 months minimum to over a year maximum), the aforementioned magazines are available there at the newsstands or through mail and don't get cut up by Arab censors...

I think this magazine is a piece of shit, too. I was just passing along a good deal. I'll bet a bunch of people who read this board are subscribers. I, personally, am saving up all magazine monies to renew my New Yorker sub.
definitely beats buying it on the newsstand...
