Rossy fks185 Forward pressure indicator problem.

I have a set of FKS185's that i thought were ok until i tried to mount my boots onto them last night. Then i noticed one of the heels seemed to have a problem.

The turntable seemed to be clicking up over the white FP indicator and sitting on it rather than pushing it back.

I noticed that the small black plastic tab at the back of the turntable seemed looser than on the other heel and has a propensity to pop up over the white tab when you click the boot in.

Has anyone else come across this problem ?

Whats the Rozzy Warranty policy for something like this ?

In addition to this, i managed to trap my thumb between the heelpiece and the turntable.......
This resulted in a fuckload of noise from me and a purple thumbnail ....:cussing: :cussing: :cussing:

Not recommended when the din is set to 15

I did the same thing to my left index finger a few months ago...it still doesn't look normal.

I think its a karma thing.

When i was moving last summer, we had a truck with a loader on the back, i managed to trap mrs wildstyles big toe in the gap between the loader and the truck. no breaks or degloving but a lot of tears and shouting......I've never felt so bad in my life. :nonono2: :nonono2:

So at least now i know how that felt ....well, at least 20% anyway....

Try spinning the binding until the forward pressure indicator pops back out. Then try adjusting again.

If it keeps on doing it, you probably have something inside messed up. The only time I saw what you're describing was when I didn't put the heelpieces back together correctly after brake bendy. I'm far from smart when it comes to these bindings though.

I also managed to snap my finger in those.

yeah, if you spin and then reseat it looks ok until you try and put the boot in, this causes the turntable to flex up slightly and the FP indicator pops under the turntable. I think the problem is with the semi circular black plastic section on the back of the turntable. Its connected to the turntable by 3 points, they seem to be loose.

These bindings are on a pair of Rossy wold cup GS's and as such have not had the brakes messed with.

One of mine did the same thing. The plastic semi circle is held by three round tabs that you can see if you rotate it sidways and look underneath. These 'plastic nails' hold the semi circle on but the nails stretch over time.

The heel piece wear can also attribut to some of the slop and lastly the indicator tends to wear near the top making it easier to slip as well. Hold it down carefully to engage the indicator and get it set. It provides no real function/retension other than an indicator of forward pressure.

yeah .... those are the ones.

My only concern would be with it sitting ON the white tab, it will restrict the turning of the turntable possibly not allowing the boot to release.......I'm kinda twitchy about having binders at these DINS working 100% ...

I caught my finger in a P18. Went into mini-shock. Felt weak and I even had a salty taste in my mouth. I actually thought my finger broke in half.... After I released it, I just sat down on the floor for a minute so I wouldn't fall down.

It really, really, really hurt.

like the others said, just turn the heelpiece until the tab pops down.
I have yet to be caught in a heelpiece, however I have put several deep cuts into my left index finger attempting to make a shock absorbing outsole for my boots out of rubber (dull knife=bad news for me)

I've encountered this problem and have some P18s with a pretty dinged up tab from trying to push it out with a screwdriver for like 20 minutes. Didn't know about the turn method. Anyway, I've convinced myself this little thing serves no real purpose and I don't worry about it anymore.

Edit: Jesus Christ I just went and tried that on my AR5s. Turn 45 degrees. Click. Fuck. Shit like that just makes me want to give up on life.

It took me alot of pondering to figure that out....i figured there had to be an easier way than to just wedge the tab over, then I realized the bindings turned all the way around...

if something is loose, that's warrentiable. why the hell does anyone need a DIN of 15? if you think you do, turn it down before tinkering

Binder = more than 2 years old ......not within warranty = rossy:fuckyou:, salomon 5 year warranty :biggrin:
Binder = 15 cos they're on GS racing skis and pre releasing sucks at 65mph
Binder = not turned down = didn't know it would mangle my thumb cos on Salomon bindings you don't pay with your thumb for mistakes like this. As i said, look/rossy -10 Sally +10
