For anyone who cares, or for that matter doesn't give a damn about what negligence of one's own credit rating can detrimentally do to one's self read on...or just bag this crap and git to some stoke.
Instead of heading into the Northern Wasatch to track up this wonderfull, light talc that is falling now, I'm preparing myself (should be with vodka) for a consultation with a bankrupcy lawyer.
Seems that after two years departed from my dear [inject sacastic tone] ex-wife, I find that she has decided NOT to make regular payments on the house/property I left her, nor did she opt to refinance the hacienda (which I simply left her with the 40k of equity, because I was a nice guy/DUMBASS). "Irregular payments" go something like one payment every five months, with penalties and interest accruing at a rapid pace in my name...neato.
This clusterfack, I have been aware of, due to weekly friendly letters from the bank, and actually they have been understanding of the situation. However, this doesn't erase the fact MY name is still on the paper that leads to the EQUIFAX reports that future mortgage companies will not like to see.
However, the kicker in this is that the car that I had paid down to very little before the split is now back up to about 9K because she has not made any payments on it in a year. The credit union was nice enough to call me and let me know I was liable for the vehicle, penalties and ridiculously high bank sponsored insurance on the vehicle. They nicely asked when I would be paying off the vehicle....uhhhh, yeah. Done it once sista. Told them where to go repo the heap instead.
So roll to computer, spark up credit report, and have sudden volcanic churning in bowels when credit reports shows me as a serious risk due to overly delinquent accounts. Time for TUMS/alcohol.
Run to file cabinet, dig out divorce decree that states she is "responsible" for the financial management of car and house. Nothing said about she has to refinance and remove my name in X amount of time. If your names on the paper, its yours to love, cherish and pay...who's got it doesn't matter. The courts have to see the above mentioned action stated in the paper, or the one who has possesion of property can fack the other till the cows come home. And the fakking has been going on sans lube for awhile.
Big props to my divorce lawyer who steered me in the right direction for thousands of my hard earned duckets:rolleyes: .
So, I took on all small unsecured debt out of the marriage (most translated into cash machine visits while I was on some hell hole boat in the middle of winter, subsequently traded for product cooked up in some scumbag's shitter and finally inhaled through a pen casing off tinfoil...just based on what evidence I found around the ranch) to protect my own credit rating and had been paying it off, until this little event came to my attention.
Enough blathering....KEEP TRACK OF YOUR CREDIT KIDS!!!!!!!!!! I know most of you are smart enough to do it. Just let this dumbass's negligence be an exclamation point and a reminder.
